Transforming Ideas Into Reality
New 3-D Printing Technology Is Revolutionizing The Art And Pace Of Innovation And Invention

I've heard it said that “What the mind can conceive, humankind can achieve.” This notion of transforming ideas into reality is nothing especially new. Visionaries work at converting their ideas, plans and schematics into corporeal, tangible substance. This process has historically been an arduous one, requiring promotion, evangelism, acceptance, engineering, testing and fabrication through mechanical production methods. In brief, the meandering path from an idea (at inception) to a viable, functional product or service has generally been a lengthy and tenuous one, with many otherwise great ideas failing to attain actual materialization along the way. Too many brilliant ideas have never been actualized. The Law Of Attraction may well be in effect, but it operates in a rather slow and indirect way...

This has all changed, and is continuing to change at an accelerating pace, due to the introduction and ongoing development of three-dimensional computer technology which can directly convert drawings into tangible, three-dimensional output. While the output is, generally speaking, somewhat crude, the underlying technological engine of the 3D printers is constantly improving, and the creations being rendered are improving in quality, as well. We are not speaking of arts and crafts, but of the potential to generate human tissue and human organs – and more. This incredibly efficient transformation of thought into matter will revolutionize medicine, manufacturing, technology and life. Although I do not provide investment or financial advice, it is becoming increasingly apparent that investments in companies which design and create 3D software and printers (i.e., the hardware and other peripherals) may well become extremely valuable.

Going further, this emerging technology can be expected to cause substantial displacement over a very wide range of more “traditional” industries, and a significant number of companies [as well as the value of their shares] can be anticipated to be adversely affected.

Following is some additional information relating to this revolutionary technology:

2012 And Beyond - Knowing What Will Happen - The Global Futurist Blog

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

2012 - The Beginning Of The Future

The Futurism business is a tricky, controversial but necessary one. It poses multiple challenges. There are futurists who are primarily in the business of trend-spotting and intelligence reporting -- they provide a crucial real-time as well as "anticipatory" service... and then there are the predictors. In The Global Futurist Blog, I do a bit of both for my readers.

The near-term predictors tend to be judged much more harshly because their predictions will be early-on proved either accurate or inaccurate. Many a predictive guru has back-pedaled to explain (rather like an errant child, a central bank economist, or a politician) what unforeseeable circumstances or "wild cards" caused him to be off the mark. Yet, as a predictor of things, you are not truly permitted the latitude of explanation unless you have prefaced your prediction with a list of assumptions and 'ifs."

The more preconditioned your forecast upon qualifying assumptions, the less useful it will be. Near-term (i.e., within a one- to three-year time horizon) predictions are very difficult.

Those longer-term extrapolators of trends who paint brilliant futurescapes which can be expected to materialize 15 to 50 years from now have much more latitude than their more closely scrutinized and accountable shorter-run colleagues in the prediction arena.  They will not be held to account with as much severity.

And let's not forget that an influential futurist can actually make a prediction turn into a self-fulfilling prophesy by his or her own hints and the series of interrelated events which follow - almost like (in investment terms) making the market instead of calling the market.

In the coming days, weeks and months, I intend to enrich my content and your experience as my guests to include serious looks into not only my views of current intel, emerging trends, short-term predictions and far ahead futurescapes -- I will be adding much more of my colleagues' respective views on these aspects of Global Futurism to give you are better perspective of what my colleagues are thinking to compare and contrast with my individual views on the future.

My objectives are nothing short of making this particular destination the best resource for information regarding all aspects of trending, analysis and prediction available on the internet, and to make the related Twitter accounts a source of deeper, richer, more diversified content from the best sources.

It is my wish that you invest some of your future with me, and I thank you in advance.

Planetary Geographical Arbitrage: The Next "Big Thing" -Trends - Lingovations

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

International Markets are in an unprecedented state of confusion - with casualties and beneficiaries - with fiscal tragedies and investment opportunities.  And it is happening rapidly, at a dizzying pace.

Foreign exchange (FOREX) rates are swinging; relative currency valuations are fluctuating; securities exchanges are pin-drop sensitive and shatteringly volatile day-to-day; commodities prices are flying madly about; international asset flight is increasing in volume; wealth is switching form (i.e., running from bonds and currencies and pouring into gold and traditional "hard assets"); sovereign debt ratings are the subject of constant scrutiny by debt-rating agencies (such as Moody's and Standard and Poor's), and by institutional and public investors; and, the disparity between the wealth, or purchasing power, of nations is varying in an undeclared aftermarket all its own --- the result of a confluence of all of these other variables.

The next "Big Thing" might be the game of Planetary Geographical Arbitrage. This is not so much a Lingovation, as it is a logical combination of terms but in an unusual new context.

Planetary Geographical Arbitrage, as I see it from the perspective of The Global Futurist and The Internationalist Page might be simplistically defined as follows:

"Planetary Geographical Arbitrage is an investment strategy whereby the currency or wealth of one country is used, by its holders, to make strategic (i.e., influential or controlling) investments in companies, securities or assets of another country, or of financial instruments which are denominated in, or tied to, the currency of another country."

For example, if Country A has a strong currency and a strong economy, its wealth holders have a window of opportunity (for some period of time, which is not certain) to purchase undervalued (ostensibly) assets which are available in a "fire sale" in a country (Country B) which has a devastated economy and a relatively weak national currency.

The possibilities and implications are tremendous in terms of the global balance of power, and the ultimate re-distribution of true wealth worldwide.

Instead of merely diversifying portfolio assets in the traditional sense, this up-and-coming generation of Planetary Geographical Arbitrageurs will actually be looking at buying, in effect, pieces of other nations if the discount is deemed steep enough. The political implications are just as mind-boggling as the macroeconomic potentials.

This topic is going to be growing bigger and bigger, as the realization of this undeclared market comes into being. Those with the vision to participate in this game will become enormously rich and influential - not only will principals (the investors) be involved, but there is a fortune waiting to made for those individuals and firms able to facilitate these mega-transactions, through brokerage, advisory, or management services.

There will certainly be a great deal to be discussed here. Please stay tuned.

Faithfully,

Douglas E Castle

(LOOK AT THE EXCITING MONTAGES. THEY ARE COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.)

Dear Readers:

This post is merely a re-referencing of three other posts, which I would like for you to read immediately, or at least after you've had your second cup of coffee. I am taking a leap here, because I am only too keenly aware that many of my brightest and most faithful readers actually prefer prune juice as their accelerant of choice. Incidentally, you might be interested in this tidbit of factual information: Did you know that Dr. Pepper soda is simply Coca-Cola with prune juice added to it? .
